Hawaii Vacation 2018 - Aloha!
For Hawaii vacation photos, click on the photo below of a red-crested cardinal (also called Brazilian cardinal) commonly seen on the Hawaiian islands, but not actually a member of the cardinal family in spite of its name and striking resemblance. Our saga to find one of these birds still long enough to take a photograph took almost two weeks. At the right, a bird of paradise plant photographed at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, also known as the Punchbowl or Arlington Cemetery of the Pacific.
